Restaurant Meet the Bund

Perched on the 56th floor of Raffles City overlooking the Bund's iconic skyline, Meet the Bund is a restaurant with a singular mission: to elevate Fujianese cuisine—one of China's eight great culinary traditions—onto the world stage.
In 2025, the restaurant was named The Best Restaurant in Mainland China by Asia's 50 Best Restaurants, ranking No. 14 overall. It holds one Michelin star and has been recognized by the domestic Black Pearl guide for consecutive years.
Fujianese cuisine is famed for being simultaneously light yet layered, emphasising the true flavours of premium ingredients rather than masking them. Chef Chen Zhiping, a Fujian native who trained under master chef Wu Rong for over a decade, leads the kitchen with a philosophy of restraint and precision. In 2021, he received the Michelin Young Chef Award.
The menu balances classic regional dishes with contemporary refinement. The signature Buddha Jumps Over the Wall replaces traditional shark's fin with a collagen-rich medley of fish maw and Australian sea cucumber, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to sustainability. Other signatures include Xiamen Red Mud Crab Glutinous Rice Cake—a festive Fujian staple layered with umami and memory—and Hetian chicken with silky skin, steamed in wine-infused brine.
A tea pavilion offers Fujian's finest brews alongside light bites—a quiet respite from the city's relentless pace.

Michelin Star
Meet the Bund Skyline comes highly recommended for its unique Bund views and modern take on regional flavors. The cold soup with sea cucumber, sea clam, and basil is clean and well‑balanced—the sea cucumber’s texture contrasts with the sweet sea clam, while basil adds a subtle herbal note. Serving it cold lightens the seafood’s richness and allows the purity of the ingredients to shine. What I appreciate most is the restaurant’s restrained approach to modern Fujian cuisine, letting the ingredients speak for themselves
