Cafe Egg

Founded by American expat Camden Hauge—a long-time Shanghai food scene pioneer behind projects like Bird, Bitter, and the SOCIAL SUPPLY agency—this cozy cafe has become a go-to for Western-style brunch in a setting that feels effortlessly welcoming.
Egg is small, bright, and airy, with tables for 2–4 guests plus a communal table, and a semi-sunken kitchen where the action happens. It’s the kind of place where locals, expats, and travelers gather over coffee, laptops, and long conversations. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, with service that’s efficient even during busy weekend hours.
The menu changes seasonally—about two-thirds of it rotates every few months—while fan favorites remain.
