Bar Leone

Bar Leone is the Shanghai outpost of the Hong Kong bar that was named No. 1 on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2025—the first Asian bar to top the global list. Founded by legendary bartender Lorenzo Antinori, the Shanghai location opened in November 2025 in a historic lane house in the former French Concession.

The bar’s philosophy is “Cocktail Popolari”—cocktails for the people, inspired by the neighborhood bars of Rome’s Trastevere district. The two-story venue is divided into two spaces. The first floor, Bar di Passo (“the bar for passersby”), channels a 1980s Italian sports bar with a stainless-steel counter serving spritzes and highballs on tap. The second floor is a warmer, more intimate space with 1970s Italian living room vibes, focusing on spirit-forward cocktails.
